Duri e puri. Convinti. Abbastanza restii a comunicare, come
accade spesso quando si hanno vent’anni e si è determinati a
portare avanti le proprie idee anche se (o soprattutto se)
controcorrente, e a seguire i proprio modelli. […] La
formazione è quella canonica del “power trio” e vista la
precisione della resa (la voce, che appartiene al chitarrista
Andrea, somiglia in modo notevole a quella di Cobain), gli
Shame sono entrati nel giro […] suonando in prevalenza nei
ritrovi di Como e dintorni. […] Goldiring comincia con
chitarra pulita, entrano voce e batteria per una strofa calma
e melodica, poi la chitarra diventa distorta e la voce un
urlo… tutto alla maniera di Seattle.

are Hard & Pure. They are convinced. They're pretty shy
when it comes to chat - as always happens when you're 20 and
you're only determined to pursue your goals even if (or above
all if) they're against the rules. The line-up is a typical
"power trio" machine, and considering how precise they are
onstage (Andrea's voice sounds very much like Cobain's) it's
not surprising that Shame are ruling their crowd with
numerous live gigs. "Goldring" starts in an almost clean
tone, then lead vocals and drums enter the song in a calm,
melodic verse. Finally, the guitar roars and the voice rises

Shame,
tre con l’energia di dieci
A loro piace suonare dal vivo. Bene il loro demo
“Sad”.
Sono in tre ma con l’energia di almeno dieci elementi.
Formazione base, quindi, ma sufficiente a coinvolgere il
pubblico accorso numeroso alla diciannovesima serata di
“Ribalta Sonica”, manifestazione riservata ai gruppi non
professionisti di Monza e circondario.
[…] Rock-grunge il genere proposto, con i testi in inglese.
“Non siamo una tribute-band” ha precisato Andrea. “Abbiamo
una nostra identità”.
[…]“Sad” il titolo del demo di presentazione degli Shame, che
hanno all’attivo concerti in locali importanti come il Bloom,
Transilvania (Como), Palavobis, fino ad arrivare allo Skagen,
punto di riferimento per il genere, che però ha chiuso i
battenti. “Il demo ha avuto un ottimo riscontro” – ha
sottolineato Andrea. “Purtroppo in Italia il genere che
proponiamo non è molto apprezzato. Il mercato discografico è
in crisi e nessuno è più disposto a rischiare. Da qui la
scelta di cantare in inglese per puntare all’estero, dove
d’altra parte sono molto gelosi della pronuncia. Il piacere
più grande sarebbe quello di poter suonare davanti ad un
pubblico numeroso e reattivo, che partecipa”, ha aggiunto
Andrea, che non manca di coinvolgere chi gli sta davanti.

[Shame,
three guys with the energy of an army
They like playing live. "Sad" sounds really
good.
They're only three people but they have a ten elements
energy. A basic line-up, then, but that's quite enough to
make the "Ribalta Sonica" audience jump. Rock-grunge is their
genre, lyrics in english.
"We are not a tribute band" Andrea states. "We have our own
identity".
"Sad" is the title of the new Ep of this band that usually
plays in important places like Bloom, Transilvania, Palavobis
and Skagen. "Our demotape is going great" Andrea pinpoints.
"Unfortunately, the kind of music we propose is not very
welcome here in Italy. The music industry is going through a
great crisis and nobody wants to take risks anymore. This is
where our choice to sing in English comes from: we're looking
abroad, where on the other hand they're very jelous about the
prononciation matter. Our biggest pleasure would be playing
in front of a very crowded, reactive audience" Andrea says.
And, take it or leave it, he's very good in dragging the
crowd into Shame's vortex.]

Live
al Tana Mana – 09-04-2005
Primissimo concerto per gli Shame in nuova formazione, a
circa quattro mesi dall’ingresso di Veronica dietro la
batteria.
La band sale sul palco (più che altro soppalco) del Tana Mana
attorno alle 23, e sfodera un live-set di quasi due ore,
mescolando intelligentemente pezzi propri (tutto l’Ep “Sad” e
alcuni nuovi brani, in fase più o meno embrionale) e cover
che abbracciano molto dell’alternative-rock americano degli
ultimi quindici anni.
Discostandosi – pur senza rinnegarlo – da un passato di
Nirvana tribute-band perché forti di un’identità musicale più
matura e strutturata, gli Shame propongono oggi un repertorio
sicuramente più vario ed appetibile agli appassionati del
genere, che include tra gli altri Deftones, Pearl Jam, Red
Hot Chili Peppers, Bush, Puddle Of Mudd e ancora la band di
Cobain.
La scaletta non ha particolari cadute di stile, e Andrea,
Ribho e Veronica sembrano essere molto comodi nei panni
energici e appassionati dei “musicisti da palco”. Il
pubblico, accorso davvero numeroso, apprezza la performance
in maniera indubitabile.
[After
four months spent practising with their new line-up - showing
Veronica as the new drummer - this is the very first concert
for Shame. The band enters the Tana Mana's stage around 11
pm, and shots the audience with a two-hour gig, smartly
mixing original songs (all taken from "Sad" Ep plus some new
embrional tracks) and famous alternative-rock covers.
Keeping their Nirvana Tribute Band past away - even without
denying it - and holding strongly their now mature and
structured musical identity, Shame proposes a wide, tasty
repertoire including Deftones, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Bush, Puddle
Of Mudd and - again - Nirvana.
The concert's tracklist never fails and Peddy, Ribho and
Veronica look perfectly comfortable in their "stage animals"
clothes. The wide audience indubitably appreciate
them.]
